A Special Surprise for My New Friends in Australia
I received some wonderful surprises in my mailbox yesterday and had to share them with everyone! My new friends in Mrs. Joyce's 3/4J class, in the beautiful and adventurous country of Australia, sent me some great messages! My heart felt so happy and I grinned from ear to ear when I saw how much my friends are enjoying my website and travels around the world.

This entire blog is dedicated to the incredible students in Mrs. Joyce's class! Mrs. Joyce, a teacher who is loved by all her students, teaches her children with a global education and helps open their minds to all the cultures of the world. Her class website includes wonderful lessons and resources for global education.
The students' messages really meant a lot to me so I just had to show my love and gratitude in a very special way. I want to thank each of you for your emails and pictures, and want you to know that I can't wait to travel to Australia and learn all about your exciting culture! Check out the picture I sent - did I pack enough for an adventure in Australia?
Hi Jade,
I am so happy you liked the rock activity and I hope your class can do the project. Please send me pictures if you do! I would love to see them and post them on my site for my friends around the world to see.
Hi Ayuen,
I agree with you, the rocks that say love are creative and I hope you do make some one day and send me pictures to share with my friends!
Hi Tyson,

Hi Byron,
Thanks for saying that I have cool things - just wait till you see my red air balloon! I am happy to know you are enjoying my blog and activities and hope you share some of your art with me soon.
Hi Matty,
I am so happy to hear you like reading about my adventures! I really enjoy exploring other countries and sharing my experiences with my friends. If you could travel anywhere in the world where would you go? Send me more messages and let me know!
Hi Nanjera!
It means a lot to me that your entire class would want to see me! I would love to travel to Australia and bring my stuffed koala, Lucy, to join me on my trip. I can't wait to learn more about your beautiful country!
Hi Yewande,
Thank you for your compliment about my love rock! I love painting and writing in all different directions to make it fun. You should try it out and send me a picture of your love rock. I will post it on my website!
Hi Angel,
Thanks, the best part is giving the rocks away to someone who needs a smile. Another great thing is painting them with your friends so you can share the love as you create something happy!
Hi Owen,
Don't worry Owen, the bees and I are friends and they do a lot to help Mother Earth. Without the bees, we wouldn't have so many amazing plants to feed everyone. But they can sting, so as long as you leave them alone, they should leave you alone. 🙂 But I have to say, I do love the sweet honey they share with us, it's my favorite treat! Yum, yum!
Hi Amealia,
Thank you! I am so happy that you love all the art and pictures on my gallery. I love sharing my friends' artwork and hope to share art from around the world one day! Send me your art and pictures, I would enjoy sharing art from my Australian buddies!
Hi Nyamal,
Your message means a lot to me! I really hope to bring people in the world together and help them connect, respect and love each other. I love what my name means and hope I can share joy with everyone I meet!
Hi Makiala,
The Remembering with Love blog post is one of my favorites too! Especially with all those pretty pictures and the big heart with all the words that make my friends think about love! What does love mean to you, Makiala?
Hi Dylan,
Yes, I have heard Australia can be dangerous. What do you recommend I do to stay safe when I visit? Thanks for caring and looking out!
Hi Betty,
Thank you for your kind compliment! My friends all did a great job on the rocks and pictures and I would love to see yours as well.
Hi Sharhna,
So many of your classmates want me to come to Australia, and I tell you, I am so excited to come one day! I've heard how wonderful your teacher, Mrs. Joyce is, and I love all the great things she is teaching you about the world.
Hi Liam,
Wow! You are super awesome, Liam! Thank you for all the compliments! The food is very tasty and I definitely recommend you try making our recipes with your family. The Bakso soup from Indonesia (my home!) and the Chinese spring rolls were Y-U-M-M-Y!
Hi Hayley,
The rocks are a lot of fun! It is fun painting them with friends, writing happy words on them, and most importantly giving them to others to make them smile and feel loved! I hope your class gets to try them out and send pictures for me to post on my gallery. 🙂
Keep the mail coming my friends because I really enjoy reading every note you send, just as much as I enjoy writing back to you. So what kind of crafts do you like to do there? What's a favorite Australian meal I should try when I visit? Oh! And what's your favorite landmark there? I've heard Ayers rock is quite a sight to see!
Thanks again friends! Keep up the great work in school and I hope to hear more about your adventures in the future!
Lots of love,
-Joy Sun Bear
